Almost There consists of six seasoned musicians (including several lead vocalists) from the Philadelphia band circuit. Each member has extensive years of experience playing in original and cover bands. coming together in the name of celebrating the most entertaining styles of music, Almost There delivers a high energy, consistent audio experience staying true to the sound of the songs they play. They produce a live show encompassing various styles of music tailored to each event.

Stephanie Wagner - Vocals
Stephanie Wagner has been singing vocals for about 7 years.  Throughout high school, she participated in School of Rock for 2 years as part of their House band.  Performing in their house band, she has traveled to Canada, Texas, New York, Michigan and more to sing on stage, making her a seasoned musician. Continuing on to college, she majored in Music Production and Entrepreneurship, graduating magna cum laude.  Participating in groups such as Rhapsody (acapella) and the college’s rock band, she has learned many skills which include aural training, audio production, music theory, performance techniques and vocal expansion.  Being in two different bands in college, she has also experienced band management, planning gigs and networking.  Since graduating she has been involved with making her own music and performing out at open mics.

John McShane - Bass
Hailing from West Chester and now Wayne, PA, John founded Almost There in 2015. John enjoys a wide variety of musical styles, but his love of music from the ‘90s was the impetus for creating Almost There. In addition to playing the bass, he manages the band, keeping the music fun and up beat.  "Whatever music makes you want to dance and sing along, that's what we want to play!”

A quiet presence offstage, Ian lets his drumming do the talking. With experience across multiple genres, he focuses on feel, dynamics, and keeping the music locked in. Playing music is a way to connect without words, and being behind the kit is where he feels most at home. Grateful for every chance to play, he loves bringing the songs to life—one beat at a time.

Steve Barrett - Keys, Vocals
Steve grew up in a musical family, yet had little patience for formal piano lessons, preferring instead to play by ear.  In his early teens he learned to play trumpet under his father’s tutelage, and developed a musical base playing in his high school marching band and orchestra. Yet it was during college that Steve discovered playing piano was a great stress relief from academics, and his musical interests blossomed — leading to studies in electronic music, synthesizers, multitrack recording and jazz piano.  After playing keyboards in original and cover bands for several years, Steve took a long break from performing to concentrate on family and raising his kids.  In 2014, Steve returned to the stage, and has been with Almost There since early 2022.

Brian Zee - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Brian Zee was inspired by Edward Van Halen as a young child and maintained a passion for the guitar and Rock & Roll ever since.  His High School years were spent learning classical guitar by day, and classic rock at night. He cut his teeth playing in alternative and modern rock cover bands throughout his college years, as well as various original projects, and an acoustic duo.  He later spent over a decade as a recording artist for Rankoutsider Records. Brian played venues from New York to LA and shared the stage with such Rock & Roll luminaries as The Cramps, Mudhoney, D-Generation, Glenn Matlock (ex-Sex Pistols), The Supersuckers, Tommy Stinson (ex-Replacements), The Zombies, and many others, along the way.
